Our approach to financial planning

At CBFA, we work collaboratively with you to identify the most appropriate way to achieve your financial goals. Our team will explore your options, make recommendations then implement a financial plan tailored to your needs

Our six-step financial planning process is:

1. Make contact

You can reach out to us by phone, email or via our website’s contact form.

If you’re not quite ready, explore our insights and guides.

2. Understand your needs

Your initial meeting with one of our friendly advisers is at our cost. We’ll learn more about you, your current financial position and any products you already have in place. To get the most out of this session, your adviser will need details of your current assets, liabilities, income and outgoings.

3. Define your goals

We’ll find out what you want to achieve in the future. We will also discuss your attitude to risk and explain any assumptions used in planning, such as inflation or investment returns.

4. Research and analysis

Our paraplanners will carry out a full review of your existing arrangements. We will analyse the charges you currently pay, the performance of any investments/pensions, then compare this to what you’re trying to achieve. We will then research the market to formulate a recommendation report.

5. Delivery and implementation

Once you have read your recommendations, your adviser will meet with you and talk through our advice. When you are happy to proceed, you will complete the relevant paperwork. Our administrative support team will then track applications and keep you updated with progress.

6. Monitor and review

We can’t stress enough the importance of regular engagement with your financial adviser. Circumstances change, investment trends evolve and legislation constantly updates. Whatever happens, we’ll work with you to ensure your plan stays in line with your objectives
